At a very early age Nathan realized there was a call for ministry on his life. He was saved at 5 years old, and then he wrote his first song at the age of 7. He sang with his family throughout the Southeast until he was 19 when he received a call from Naomi Sego to join her legendary group singing baritone and playing bass guitar. A few years later he was noticed by another Hall of Famer (Ed O'Neal) and was ask to join The Dixie Melody Boys as baritone and bassist. The group was a instant success winning the Horizon Award and performing to sell out crowds everywhere. There he was recognized as one of the Nations Favorite Baritone singers 4 years in a row by the Singing News Fan Awards. He has also written over 15 Top 40 Chart Songs including the #1 Hit "Heavenly Sonrise" by The Hoppers. His music has been featured on The Gaither Homecoming Video series as well as recorded by various artist including Bill Gaither, The Lesters, Jimmy Swaggert, The Whisnants and a host of others... Now, after serving as a Pastor, Minister of Music and working in the cooperate world for several years, he has returned to his original calling of singing, writing, producing, arranging and sharing this glorious message of the Cross of Jesus in testimony and song.
Sabbath Quartet is proud to introduce Ashley Moose to the world of Gospel Music. He is an extremely talented vocalist and can sing those low notes that everyone loves to hear. He first heard Tim Riley singing on the radio and was immediately hooked on this music and felt the desire and calling to pursue a life of singing the Gospel. At the age of 14 he was introduced to Jeff Chapman who would become his mentor, and would form a lifelong friendship with one of the best to ever sing bass. Ashley has also attended the Stamps School of Music and over the years has performed with very popular local and regional groups in the Piedmont of North Carolina such as The Brothers Redeemed, The Servants and High Time Quartet. He, his wife and children are active members of the Stony Point Methodist Church, and we are excited about his future in this music with Sabbath Quartet.
We are excited about Ivan's future with Sabbath Quartet, and the talents he brings with him. He is well versed in all of the parts, and has an amazing creative ability to write and arrange music. His talents and abilities are accentuated by his formal training and music degrees. He has a Bachelors degree from UNC Chapel Hill in music and vocal performance and has been classically trained as well. Originating from Lumberton, NC he has resided in the greater Charlotte region for many years where he has honed his talents and abilities through various outlets including Opera and off Broadway productions, as well as Acapella performance for Christmas and various musical events. His love for this music came at a very early age, being raised in church and singing with his family group known throughout the region as The Gospel Messengers. He learned his skills as a musician and singer in church and being involved in the various aspects of the music ministry as a Minister of Music as well as other leadership roles such as CED (Christian Education Director) etc.. We feel that Ivan has been divinely appointed to our group for such a time as this, and we are excited to see what the Lord has in store for him and his talents in the days and years ahead. You will be extremely blessed by his talents when you hear him minister in song and testimony.
Everyone who knows Quartet music loves a great high Tenor, and we have one of the best! Derek started his musical journey at the age of 3, being propped up on a stool and singing at the top of his lungs, and nothing has changed (other than the stool). In school he was honored with many accolades for his talents including Top State Honors as a Soloist as well as Quartet performance for 3 consecutive years. He was also featured in many musical productions, and as a saxophone player was named the Drum Major of the marching Band where he was highly awarded as well. He was professionally vocally trained in Opera, Folk, and Classical arrangements where he received numerous honors as well. Nonetheless, he will be the first to tell you that his hearts desire and his calling has always been in this music. From the time he was saved at 9 years old, he has always wanted to sing tenor in a Gospel Quartet. He has played various instruments and sang with local, regional and Nationally known groups. Starting with his family Group and branching off to others like Sacred Journey, The Kingdom Heirs, and most recently The World Famous Blackwood Quartet. Although he is certified as a vocal coach and a professional Photographer, and is highly capable of doing many other vocations, He is dedicated and determined to fulfill his destiny as the Lord has called him to do. We are honored and privileged to have him as part of Sabbath Quartet and we can't wait for you to hear his anointed natural tenor voice.
